Bold marble-inspired design comes home with CRL Quartz Countertop Bathrooms
When you are planning a new bathroom or updating an existing one, your choice of colour and materials will have an important bearing on the overall look and feel. One area of the bathroom’s design that can have a real visual impact is quartz countertops.
The basin area of the bathroom is often a focal point and particularly so in smaller spaces. If your bathroom is compact then a lighter, brighter colour scheme will help make it look and feel bigger. The countertop is no exception to this, with a crisp, slim white surface often working best. In larger spaces, combine a light coloured countertop with a darker colour for the furniture or vanity unit beneath for contrast. A white countertop works brilliantly with black furniture (or vice versa) to achieve the monochrome look that is so popular in bathroom design currently. The look of natural marble is also very popular in bathrooms, with its distinctive graining adding an individual flair and really drawing the eye.

While aesthetics and style of quartz countertops are all-important in the bathroom, practical considerations should not be overlooked. Fortunately, with materials such as quartz and porcelain coming to the fore, the function can be combined with form without the need for any compromise.
Admittedly, the bathroom doesn’t see the amount of wear and tear as in the kitchen, but the two rooms do have a lot of practical considerations in common when it comes to surfaces.
The number one requirement of a bathroom countertop is that it needs to be water resistant. Splashing from the basin plus build-up of steam in this naturally humid environment can all have an effect on the materials chosen over time, so choosing a material such as quartz or porcelain, which are completely waterproof, means that your bathroom countertop can be easily wiped dry to keep it looking as good as new.
Durable, easy to clean and with no requirement for sealing, manufactured quartz and porcelain imitate the look of natural materials such as limestone, granite or marble which all work so well in the bathroom. The difference is that quartz and porcelain countertops are even more resistant to scratches and stains and are remarkably easy to care for.
With such a focus on appearance in the bathroom, quartz and porcelain also come in a wide variety of colours and a range of thicknesses, encouraging creativity of design. As a largely private space that is relatively unseen, the bathroom is a space where injecting personality should be encouraged and this versatility of colours makes this possible. The bathroom countertop is the ideal surface for introducing different finishes too. A textured surface, for example, combines brilliantly with some of the on-trend materials for the bathroom, such as wood, bringing a natural tactile elegance to the space.
From polished to natural or textured and whatever colour you settle on, a quartz or porcelain bathroom countertop will make a style statement and last the test of time. All that’s left is to lie back, relax and enjoy the bubbles!
