Inalco MDi surfaces from CRL Stone take centre-stage in the kitchen revamp of a railway cottage in south-east London, with a marble effect drawing the eye and enhancing the warm, welcoming environment that the owners have worked so hard to successfully create. In a certain light, the colours can be misconstrued as a black and white kitchen.
Inalco MDi Touche Super Blanco Gris surfaces were chosen for the kitchen worktops and splashbacks in this recently fitted kitchen, which came about as a result of a damp problem meaning the new owners of the property had free rein on putting their stamp on the heart of the home.
The new look that the pair have chosen is a complete contrast to what was there before as the dark green fronted furniture, marble-effect surfaces and stainless steel appliances have all been chosen to replace white gloss units, which weren’t in keeping with the overall look of the home.
The marble-effect of the Touche Super Blanco Gris surface was chosen for the kitchen worktops and splashbacks by interior designers Inspired Design, who devised the scheme for the new property owners. The company worked with the pair, taking their ideas on board and using their own expertise in the materials and finishes available, to ensure the kitchen is on-trend while creating a timeless feel that the pair could happily live with for a long time to come.
The ceramic surface is not only a lot simpler to look after than if the couple had opted for genuine marble instead, but MDi taps also into the trend for slim-line, minimal too. The worktop is just 12mm thick and by opting for the same material for the splashback, a sleek, contemporary and uncomplicated look is created.
Beautiful, hard-wearing and versatile, Inalco MDi is a range of surfaces that are all inspired by nature, making it the ideal choice for this south-east London property. Aside from Touche Super Blanco Gris, Inalco MDi is available in a large range of other colours and finishes and is particularly suited to the kitchen environment due to being totally impermeable, completely stain and scratch resistant, very thermally stable and shock resistant. This means that very little in the way of care and maintenance will need to be done to keep the surface looking as good as new, and it will always be ready for when the pair are entertaining, preparing food or just chilling out and enjoying their new kitchen.
Acting in contrast to the darker furniture that the owners chose for the kitchen which is in a sophisticated jaguar green, the Touche Super Blanco Gris worktops were fabricated by Sheridan Fabrications of Wakefield and instantly draw the eye with their marble-effect design, yet work in harmony with the grey stone-effect flooring and slimline chrome fittings. Offset against charcoal grey on the walls and ceiling, thanks to the marble-inspired worktops, the finished space is one of character and warmth which is very much in keeping with the property overall as well as being precisely to the homeowner’s taste.
